TheNow | Dancefloor as Community and Resistance

Communities forced to the margins build connection and solidarity through any available means – such as a dance floor.
Join us to listen to stories from community members exploring dancefloor culture from an intergenerational lens as we pose the questions:
How has dancing brought communities together?
How is the dancefloor a site of resistance to cis-heteronormativity?
What more can we do to make these spaces accessible and welcoming to all members of 2SLGBTQ+ communities?
All are welcome.
ASL interpretation provided.
Registration is encouraged.
Light refreshments will be served.
This event is part of Pride Week 2025, where MacEwan University recognizes and celebrates the diversity of our 2SLGBTQ+ students, faculty, staff, and allies.
