From Edmonton Drag Festival

Due to extreme wind and safety concerns affecting infrastructure at Churchill Square, we’ve made the tough call to shut down Day 2 (Drag Xplosion) from the Square and moved it Evo and moved Day 3’s programming .

We are heartbroken about today’s programming, but the safety of our performers, vendors, crew, and community is our #1 priority. 🌬️💔

The Edmonton Drag Festival returns for its most spectacular year yet—celebrating identity, artistry, and community through the bold and beautiful lens of drag. Spanning three dynamic days in the heart of downtown Edmonton, this festival is a vibrant tribute to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, with a powerful focus on uplifting minority voices and performances.

Each day offers a unique experience:

May 30 – Cultural Pride Day: Ignite the weekend with a rich showcase of tradition, history, and expression, this day opens with a Traditional Indigenous 2-Spirit Showcase and continues with panel discussions, workshops, and performances from BIPOC 2SLGBTQIA+ cultural and drag artists.

2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

May 31 – Drag Xplosion: Come celebrate all things drag. From the red carpet to the main stage, expect a dazzling explosion of talent, glamour, and community joy as local and international drag stars bring down the house with their charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent.

12:00 PM – 10:00 PM

June 1 – Pride Kickoff Party: The first day of Pride, celebrating all things queer. Serving high-energy 2SLGBTQIA+ performances, workshops, drag bingo, DJs, and much more.

With performances, red carpet, educational programming, vendor markets, family-friendly activities, drag bingo all weekend, and community engagement, the Edmonton Drag Festival is more than an event—it’s a movement for equity, visibility, and celebration.
