EQHP Walking Tour – Politics & Protest

As we celebrate pride, we also need to remember the past and the brave people who fought for our rights. Learn more about Delwin Vriend and the battle for human rights in Alberta. Do you remember the Lake of Fire that changed the course of a provincial election? Can you recall when the rainbow Pride flag was first raised over the Alberta legislature? What about Bill 10 and the fight for GSAs or BIll 8, which for the first time ever rolled back important protections for 2SLGBTQ+ students and teachers in schools? Come out and learn about important moments in Alberta’s political history.
This tour will be hosted by history-maker Michael Phair and special guest.
We are pleased to be able to provide ASL interpretation for this walking tour. Please notify us at least one week in advance when you register.
