June 1 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm MDT
Exercise is often discussed through neurotypical expectations, but movement, fitness, and physical activity can look very different when viewed through an autistic lens.
Join Autism Edmonton for Exploring Exercise Through an Autistic Lens, a virtual learning session focused on understanding movement, sensory experiences, motivation, accessibility, and well-being in ways that honour autistic experiences and needs.
This session will explore how sensory processing, executive functioning, coordination, anxiety, interoception, burnout, and social expectations can impact relationships with exercise and physical activity. Participants will also learn about creating more neuro-affirming and accessible approaches to movement that prioritize regulation, enjoyment, and sustainability rather than pressure or conformity.
Whether you are autistic, supporting an autistic person, or working in education, recreation, health, or wellness, this session offers valuable insight into making exercise and movement more inclusive and supportive for neurodivergent individuals.

| Event Listing & Graphics Disclaimer PrideEdmonton.ca is a free, unfunded, volunteer-run community listing platform. We do not generate revenue from our services and do not receive funding or grants from community or government sources. All events and accompanying graphics are submitted by independent organizers. Many organizers operate with little or no budget and may use a variety of tools—including AI-assisted design—to create their materials. PrideEdmonton.ca does not create, edit, review, or regulate submitted graphics, nor do we assess how they are produced. Our focus is on ensuring broad visibility of the many Pride events happening across the region. Showcasing this diversity of programming helps build awareness, strengthen community connection, and foster greater understanding and acceptance. Responsibility for all submitted content rests solely with the event organizers. |
