Opening Ceremony and Pride Parade

U of A Pride Parade

Bring your friends and dress up in your brightest colours to kick off Pride Week with a Pride Parade to celebrate the amazing 2SLGBTQ+ folks that are part of the U of A’s vibrant community!

The opening ceremony will feature President Bill Flanagan and MLA Janis Irwin.

SCHEDULE

  • Check-in: 11:30 – 11:55 (folks can arrive anytime in this time frame to find their spot in the parade)
  • Opening ceremony: 12 – 12:20 p.m. (south side of Centennial Centre for Interdisciplinary Science (CCIS), facing the Main Quad)
  • Parade, 20-25 minute walk: 12:20 – 12:45 p.m. (from the Main Quad to Van Vliet Centre’s (VVC) Social Street)
  • Art display and resource fair: 1 p.m. onward
  • Drag Extravaganza: 2 – 3 p.m.

Until March 8, you can register below to have a spot reserved for you in the parade. Registration is not needed for the art display, resource fair, and drag extravaganza. Stop by, watch, and cheer!
