Queer Poetry: an afternoon with Nisha Patel

March 11 @ 1:00 pm 3:00 pm MDT

Nisha Patel is a renowned disabled queer poet and spoken word artist. She was the City of Edmonton’s 8th Poet Laureate, a Canadian Individual Poetry Slam Champion and has several awards to her name.

She has spoken extensively on the intersections between queerness and disability and explores these topics in her creative work. Nisha will join us for an afternoon of poetry at NorQuest College, where we will hear from some of her selected works and have the opportunity to engage in conversation about the art of creative self-expression.

This event is open to members of Edmonton’s post-secondary institutions (students and staff) and their guests.
