Trans & Non-Binary Foundations – Virtual Lunch ’n Learn

Join Pride in Engineering for a free virtual Lunch ’n Learn run by Victoria Bucholtz in collaboration with the Queer Education Foundation!

This workshop will provide an approachable introduction to Trans & Non-Binary identities while exploring practical ways to foster more inclusive workplaces, communities, and everyday interactions. Participants will gain foundational knowledge, learn inclusive terminology and pronoun best practices, and better understand common barriers faced by gender-diverse communities today.

This session is designed for anyone interested in learning more – whether you are an engineer, student, workplace leader, ally, or community member.

About Pride in Engineering

Pride in Engineering is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring, supporting, and connecting 2SLGBTQIA+ professionals in engineering and those working across the engineering industry. Through events, education, mentorship, and advocacy, PIE works to create safer and more inclusive spaces within engineering and STEM communities.

About the Speaker

Victoria Bucholtz holds a doctorate in History and Gender Theory from the University of Calgary and is an instructor at Mount Royal University in Calgary.

She works in the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) field with the Queer Education Foundation as a consultant and facilitator. Victoria is also a co-creator of Queer Citizens United, a board member for Trans Action Alberta, and works with Queer Momentum.

An avid mountaineer, performer, and dog mom, Victoria is a passionate advocate for gender and sexually diverse communities.
