DESCRIPTION:Stonewall Solidarity: Trans* Voices Open Mic & MixerPresented by TIAA and ELEN An evening of sharing space to end off Pride month on Stonewall’s 56th Anniversary. We will be uplifting and amplifying Trans*\, 2Spirit\, Non-Binary\, Intersex\, Gender Fluid and other gender non-conforming identities with an open mic and mixer. We are adding a focus to the minorities within the already marginalized queer population. We will have one block of open mic sign-up with advance registration and a few slots left open for first come first serve at the event. Spots will be prioritized to overlooked voices (Indigequeer\, BIPOC\, disabled\, racialized\, fat\, gender diverse\, low income and all the many things that fall inside being Trans* and intersect with other identities). DESCRIPTION:This isn’t just a show\, it’s a movement!Welcome to Leduc’s 2nd Annual Drag Show – an evening of celebration\, community\, and unapologetic self-expression\, hosted at the Leduc Drama Society. \n\n\n\nFor the second year in a row\, we’re bringing the community together for a night of drag\, joy\, and resistance — all in support of a critical cause: Raising funds for the Leduc Pride Society to build a permanent\, safe\, and affirming space for queer youth in Leduc. \n\n\n\nRight now\, Leduc does not have a dedicated safe space for LGBTQ2S+ youth. No sanctuary where they can truly be themselves\, connect with peers\, or access affirming support. And in today’s world where so many young queer and trans folks face bullying\, isolation\, and fear\, this lack of space isn’t just inconvenient\, it’s dangerous. \n\n\n\nWe are changing that. \n\n\n\nWith your support\, we’re working toward creating a space where queer youth in Leduc feel seen\, supported\, and celebrated\, not just tolerated. DESCRIPTION:The Edmonton 2 Spirit Society is honored to host our 1st Annual Traditional 2 Spirit Pow Wow — a powerful celebration of Two Spirit identity\, culture\, and community. This landmark event will take place over three meaningful days\, each rooted in tradition\, connection\, and pride. \n\n\n\nWe begin on June 27 with Tipi Teachings\, where a traditional tipi will be set up as a sacred space for sharing Indigenous knowledge\, stories\, and teachings that honor the spirit and role of Two Spirit people in our cultures. \n\n\n\nOn June 28\, join us at Borden Park (7507 Borden Park Rd NW\, Edmonton\, AB T5B 4W8) for a full day of celebration — both the Tipi Teachings and our Traditional Pow Wow will be held on-site. Grand Entry begins at 12:00 PM\, followed by an afternoon filled with dancing\, drumming\, singing\, and ceremony\, wrapping up at 6:30 PM. \n\n\n\nWe close the weekend on June 29 with a warm and welcoming community brunch from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM\, featuring performances by incredibly talented 2 Spirit artists and community members. DESCRIPTION:DYS x ELEN Present: Community Pride Day\n\n\n\nDragging Youth Shows and Edmonton Lesbian* Event Network are pleased to announce Community Pride Day 2024.  \n\n\n\nThis is ELEN’s 6th Annual family Pride party and another partnership with the great folks at DYS. Our free\, all ages celebration will take place both indoors and outdoors. We will be welcoming diverse vendors\, local organizations and community leaders in a space safe for the whole family. We’ll have lots of arts & crafts\, interactive zones\, activities and outdoor games\, photo ops\, a barbeque\, music\, silent auction and much more. After this day of fun\, stick around for another terrific monthly show from Dragging Youth. This revue of talented amateur and experienced performers is for Orange Shirt Day and benefits Edmonton 2Spirit Society. \n\n\n\nOur goal is to blend Indigenous-focused resources and creative works while also highlighting and uplifting smaller orgs and businesses from our local queer community\, especially the ones who are marginalized and sidelined even within our own spaces. We intend to showcase 2Spirit\, Trans and Non-Binary voices and QTIBPOC artists and community groups. \n\n\n\nWe are not charging admission for Community Pride Day but we are requesting donation items for grassroots org Bear Claw Beaver Hills House. Our drive is for all items that can be used on a street-level to support the houseless community (food\, water\, clothes\, shelter\, blankets\, candles\, etc). \n\n\n\nA ticket is required for the show\, starting at 6pm.  \n\n\n\n$7 in advance\, $10 on-site.  \n\n\n\n$11 advance bannock combo and ticket.  \n\n\n\nCash only\, no ATM on-site! Some lovely Kookums and Aunties are coming in to cook fresh bannock up in the kitchen for us. \n\n\n\nWe will have a barbeque and snacks available for purchase. Alcohol will be available indoors with ID. We will be trying to address dietary restriction and special requirements so please let us know in advance if this is a concern. \n\n\n\nThe Unitarian Church of Edmonton is fully accessible and has gender neutral washrooms. We will have a quiet room available and a designated sensory and stimulus zone. There will be free parking on-site and in adjacent areas. While designated as a ‘church’\, it is important to note this is a progressive and inclusive space dedicated to learning\, spiritual exploration and social justice. The UCE proudly supports queer and Trans causes.
