As recognition of Robertson Wesley’s commitment as a church to the 2SLGBTQIA community\, they will be hosting a free public event for PIE Day on Friday\, March 14th at 5:30. This year the threat to young trans and gender expansive individuals is especially at risk with the provincial legislation currently in progress\, therefore any funds raised will be shared between RW’s affirming ministries and Egale Canada who\, with Skipping Stone and several families\, are suing the AB government for unconstitutional discrimination regarding these specific bills\, particularly bill 26 which became law Dec 5\, 2024.   \n\n\n\nThe event itself is free (donations happily accepted) and will feature delicious pie\, community networking\, socializing\, empowering words and a variety show of local performers. We will feature indoor and outdoor entertainment that is child-friendly in an accessible and open space reserved just for us. All community members and allies are invited to participate with us. \n\n\n\nOur evening of family-safe fun will feature live performances\, arts and crafts activities\, games and more. Refreshments will be available by donation. Pride merchandise will be sold to benefit local not for profit orgs and volunteer-run groups. DESCRIPTION:Pride Day at K-Days\n\n\n\nJoin us on the K-Days Midway for another exciting day of queer joy at the fair! \n\n\n\nStart off at 12:30 with a Drag Queen Storytime and then enjoy the rides until the afternoon’s multiple drag showcases begin – including the Dancing Kings\, Haus of Art\, Legends of Drag\, a FrancoQueer Drag showcase\, an IndigiHauz drag showcase\, and more \n\n\n\nMore than a dozen local 2SLGBTQ+ Non-profits will be on site in the Silver Slipper Saloon from 3PM – 9PM for the return of our Pride Resource Fair! Local queer DJs will be playing in both the Silver Slipper Saloon and the Golden Garter Speakeasy as well! \n\n\n\nFree concerts on the South Stage will be happening in the evening (See event schedule below) but the day doesn’t end after they’re done\, because the House of Hymen has a special late night adults only show in the Cristal Palace Spiegeltent\, tickets on sale now!
