Celebrate Pride Every Day

2SLGBTQ+ Pride should be celebrated all year because it is a celebration of the diversity and individuality of the 2SLGBTQ+community. It is a reminder of the progress that has been made towards acceptance and equality, and a call to action for continued progress.

Additionally, Pride is not just about one month or one event, but about everyday visibility and representation for 2SLGBTQ+ individuals, who should be able to live their lives authentically and without fear of discrimination any day of the year. Celebrating Pride all year long helps to create a more inclusive and equitable society for everyone.

Celebrating Pride can benefit the City of Edmonton, Alberta in several ways. First, it can promote acceptance and inclusion for the 2SLGBTQ+ community, which can lead to a more diverse and equitable society. It can also boost the local economy through tourism and increased business for local businesses that participate in or sponsor the events.

It can also raise awareness about 2SLGBTQ+ issues and promote education and understanding about the community. Overall, celebrating Pride can have a positive impact on both the community and the City as a whole.

JUNE IS PRIDE MONTH

For over 40 years the 2SLGBTQ+ community in Edmonton has celebrated PRIDE during the month of June. This year will be no exception and like last year we will celebrate PRIDE MONTH from June 1st through to June 30th.

2022 saw over 40 events presented by more than 19 different producers and local businesses in 21+ different venues throughout the City of Edmonton and the Capital Region including St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan, Leduc and Spruce Grove.

Here at Pride Edmonton our goal is to be one central source listing all Pride Events – from bars to performance venues, ballfields to community plaza’s, street fairs to churches – we will list all appropriate events.

Pride Month in Edmonton

June 1 @ 8:00 am June 30 @ 11:00 pm MDT

Join us as we celebrate Edmonton Pride Month in our City – June 1 to June 30, 2023

Around the world the month of June is when the 2SLGBTQIA+ community celebrates Pride and here in Edmonton 2023’s edition of Pride Month will be bigger and filled more amazing events through the month than ever in our City’s history.

This year we are expecting over 50 events throughout June produced by up to 30 Organizations and Allies in close to two dozen different venues, many of the Downtown.

Not only will almost all of our local Organizations serving the Queer community be offering everything from local history walking tours to Ecumenical Pride Services and even panel discussions but also our many Allies in the community will be bringing some entertaining drag performances during brunches and celebration party nights.

But you will want to catch some extraordinary events like Thorgy Thorgenson and the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra at The Winspear, the hilarious Shayla Shenanigans with over 16 hilarious celebrity impersonations at Evolution Wonderlounge.

And a brand new event this year at Louise McKinney Riverfront Park is the Edmonton Drag Festival with a roster of entertainers this will feature over 30 local and International Drag Performers.

And if you can’t get enough of Edmonton Queens then a former Queen herself … the Edmonton Riverboat will dock at Rafters landing on Friday, June 23rd for a special Pride Party on the river. Sponsored by Evolution Wonderlounge.

And of course for the ultimate party every weekend Evolution Wonderlounge brings you a stellar lineup of some great local talent, a Glow Party and DJ’s and performers that will make your nights out some of the best ever.

Pride Edmonton is the place to see what Pride events are going on in the Greater Edmonton region no matter when they happen during the year. We will be listing as many event’s as we can in one central place. Pride Edmonton also has an amazing Directory of Pride Organizers and Allies in our Community Directory and check out our Pride Products page for where you can get your Pride Supplies.
