This year celebrate the Coronation of the 49th Monarchs of the Imperial Sovereign Court of the Wild Rose. The ISCWR is Canada’s second oldest chapter of the International Court System and Alberta’s longest continuously running 2SLGBTQIA+ organization.
Join us as we honor the achievements of the reigning Emprex 48, Gabe Itch and Emprex 48, Tilda WorldEnds. Then witness the newly elected Monarchs take their oaths of office and have their Crowns placed on them in front of the College of Monarchs of the Imperial Sovereign Court of the Wild Rose.
What first began as one evening of celebration and fancy dress now stands as a one week festival of pageantry, entertainment and celebration as part of Edmonton’s long list of festivals throughout the year.
Open to view the list of events during the Coronation 49 Festival.

DYS x ELEN Present: Community Pride Day
Dragging Youth Shows and Edmonton Lesbian* Event Network are pleased to announce Community Pride Day 2024.
This is ELEN's 6th Annual family Pride party and another partnership with the great folks at DYS. Our free, all ages celebration will take place both indoors and outdoors. We will be welcoming diverse vendors, local organizations and community leaders in a space safe for the whole family. We'll have lots of arts & crafts, interactive zones, activities and outdoor games, photo ops, a barbeque, music, silent auction and much more. After this day of fun, stick around for another terrific monthly show from Dragging Youth. This revue of talented amateur and experienced performers is for Orange Shirt Day and benefits Edmonton 2Spirit Society.
Nisha Patel is a renowned disabled queer poet and spoken word artist. She was the City of Edmonton’s 8th Poet Laureate, a Canadian Individual Poetry Slam Champion and has several awards to her name.
She has spoken extensively on the intersections between queerness and disability and explores these topics in her creative work. Nisha will join us for an afternoon of poetry at NorQuest College, where we will hear from some of her selected works and have the opportunity to engage in conversation about the art of creative self-expression.
This event is open to members of Edmonton's post-secondary institutions (students and staff) and their guests.
PIE stands for Public, Intentional, and Explicit. These are the attitudes and actions required to be truly affirming. As recognition of Robertson Wesley's commitment as a church to the 2SLGBTQIA community, they will be hosting a free public event for PIE Day on Friday, March 14th at 5:30. This year the threat to young trans and gender expansive individuals is especially at risk with the provincial legislation currently in progress, therefore any funds raised will be shared between RW’s affirming ministries and Egale Canada who, with Skipping Stone and several families, are suing the AB government for unconstitutional discrimination regarding these specific bills, particularly bill 26 which became law Dec 5, 2024.
The event itself is free (donations happily accepted) and will feature delicious pie, community networking, socializing, empowering words and a variety show of local performers. All are welcome!
Famed storyteller, Kaldr, crashes his ex-best friend, Saga’s, research presentation to get their bardic band back together—but with a debt coming due, does he have time to make amends?
A queer romp of Skaldic rivalries, cowboy ballads, movie musicals, and more, KaldrSaga carves queer myths out of the stories of heroes and gods.
Due to extreme wind and safety concerns affecting infrastructure at Churchill Square, we've made the tough call to shut down Day 2 (Drag Xplosion) from the Square and moved it Evo and moved Day 3’s programming .
🎉 **Pride Kickoff Party is STILL ON — indoors, fabulous, and fierce!**
We are heartbroken about today’s programming, but the safety of our performers, vendors, crew, and community is our #1 priority. 🌬️💔

We begin on June 27 with Tipi Teachings, where a traditional tipi will be set up as a sacred space for sharing Indigenous knowledge, stories, and teachings that honor the spirit and role of Two Spirit people in our cultures.
On June 28, join us at Borden Park (7507 Borden Park Rd NW, Edmonton, AB T5B 4W8) for a full day of celebration — both the Tipi Teachings and our Traditional Pow Wow will be held on-site. Grand Entry begins at 12:00 PM, followed by an afternoon filled with dancing, drumming, singing, and ceremony, wrapping up at 6:30 PM.
We close the weekend on June 29 with a warm and welcoming community brunch from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, featuring performances by incredibly talented 2 Spirit artists and community members. During the brunch, we will also host a silent auction to raise funds for our Blue Jean Jacket Initiative, a campaign dedicated to honoring and raising awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Men and Boys in our communities.
This Pow Wow is not just an event — it is a reclamation, a gathering of spirits, and a celebration of who we are. All are welcome to join us in making history and creating space for Two Spirit voices to be seen, heard, and honoured.
St. Albert Pride in the Park will have local artist vendors selling their wares, organizations to promote resources for the LGBTQ+ community, local youth musicians, drag performers, activities like bracelet-making and temporary tattoos. Robby Hoffman is an ex-Hasidic queer Jewish stand-up comedian, writer, and true original. Robby is a new cast member on HBO Max’s "Hacks", premiering April 10. She also has a recurring role in the FX series "Dying For Sex" opposite Michelle Williams and currently can be seen as the breakout of Netflix’s "Verified". New York Times comedy critic Jason Zinoman compares her "bulldozing stand-up to Larry David because of her mountain-out-of-a-molehill kvetching, but her hilarious rage over people who complain about interruptions during a conversation makes her sound like a modern lesbian Andrew Dice Clay." Also a favorite of The Times is her podcast, Too Far, which is described as an "addictive listen." She was named one of Vulture's Top “Comedians to Watch,” one of Comedy Central's “Up Next” comedians, and was on Conan O’Brien’s “Comics to Watch” list. She has performed numerous times at the Montreal Just for Laughs festival and has twice headlined the New York Comedy Festival. She recorded her first one-hour stand up special "I’m Nervous in Toronto", available on CraveTV, and can also be seen in "History of the World" on Hulu. Robby is also a notable TV writer, having written on "The Chris Gethard Show" (TruTV), "Workin' Moms" (Netflix), and "Baroness Von Sketch Show" (IFC). In 2019, Robby won a Daytime Emmy Award for her writing work on "Odd Squad" (PBS).
