Becoming Conscious Allies

Norquest College 10215 108 Street NW, Edmonton

Many of us are curious about what being a good ally means. How do we expand our understanding of the diverse peoples we share space with, and how do we stand in solidarity with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community?

This workshop by Rae Madge from the University of Alberta’s Fyrefly Institute for Gender and Sexual Diversity is an introduction to sex and gender identities, expressions and orientations. We will talk about common assumptions and myths and try to expand our understanding of these topics so that we can become better allies and advocates. Registration is not required, but please bring some paper and a pen for taking notes!

This event is open to students and faculty of YEG post-secondary institutions.

Many organizers operate with little or no budget and may use a variety of tools—including AI-assisted design—to create their materials. PrideEdmonton.ca does not create, edit, review, or regulate submitted graphics, nor do we assess how they are produced.

Our focus is on ensuring broad visibility of the many Pride events happening across the region.
